Reports are surfacing that Rick Santorum is dropping out.
Then again, I never trust a source that starts like this:
“Bloomberg Terminal is saying that the The Washington Post is reporting Rick Santorum will drop out of the GOP race today at Gettysburg.”
I can’t find anything at WaPo to confirm that, and I don’t have Bloomberg Terminal, and I don’t know anything about businessinsider.com. So, take it all with a grain of salt.
Fox News is reporting that he’s returning to the trail as we speak, with a press conference any second now to discuss his campaign. We’ll know more soon.
UPDATE:
It’s more convoluted, here’s more from Business Insider:
Aaron Blake of the Washington post is denying that his paper is breaking this story.
Todd Starnes of Fox News is reporting that his sources can neither confirm or deny whether Santorum is dropping out.
UPDATE 1:59: And now Fox News confirms that he is dropping out.
Gotta love it when things get all crossed, it’s like the good old days.
UPDATE 11:06 PST:
WaPo is now reporting it, too. That’s good enough for me.
With Santorum out, the calls for Gingrich to step aside will just get louder. I doubt he’ll listen until the SuperPAC teat is completely dry, which is pretty much what’s happening.
UPDATE 11:18 PST:
UPDATE 11:34 PST:
Fuck Fox News, their server sucks.
